About the event

At Go Dance, our Intermediate and Advanced levels are graded. In order to participate in them, students must first pass a (fun and supportive) dance assessment. This ensures that no student finds themselves at a level that is too easy or difficult for them.

Here's how the process works:

1. Intermediate/Advanced Level Grading:

  •  Time: The assessment takes place during the regular class hours from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
  • Details: Students who wish to grade for the Intermediate level will be assessed in Week 4 of their Improvers classes.
  • Instructor Involvement: Throughout the class, instructors will closely observe students' performances and movements. They will also be available to assist with the dance moves being taught. Students are encouraged to ask questions, seek clarification, and request assistance as needed, knowing that it will not affect their grading result.
  • Assessment: At the end of the class, instructors will formally evaluate each student's performance during the last two songs of the evening. While instructors observe throughout the entire class, the formal assessment occurs during this dedicated period. This focused evaluation allows instructors to thoroughly assess each student's progress and performance, providing valuable feedback for improvement.
  • Result Notification: Grading results will be communicated via email before the subsequent week's lesson.

Our instructors are not only there to evaluate your performance but also to support you throughout the grading process. Feel free to reach out to them for assistance and guidance during the assessment—they're here to help you succeed!Understood, let's emphasize that aspect:

Assessment Fee and Feedback:

The $25 assessment fee not only covers the evaluation process but also ensures that you receive personalised feedback crucial for your progression. A significant focus of this feedback is to craft a tailored plan to help you transition to the Intermediate level if you're not already prepared. Your dedicated instructor will meticulously outline actionable steps and recommendations aimed at bridging any skill gaps and refining your technique. This strategic plan serves as a roadmap for your dance journey, guiding you towards achieving the necessary proficiency to advance to the Intermediate level.
