If you haven't already heard about it, Go Dance is taking enquiries for our first 2020 term of Go Dance student choreography courses!
How does it work?
Go Dance has two choreography terms per year. One intake in February and one in September.
Choreography courses are eight weeks long and held once a week for an hour.
Depending on your dance experience, you have three choreography course levels (teams) to join.
You can join our Go Dance Student team, suitable for students that are new to dance and are currently at our Go Dance Intermediate level. No audition required.
You could audition (more about auditioning below) to join our Go Dance 'Alegria' team, suitable for experienced Intermediate or Advanced students.
You could audition to join our Go Dance Academy team. This is our school's highest level team and is suitable for Advanced students.
How much fun is it?
Just ask anyone that has already done a Go Dance choreography course! The fun factor is huge! Learning a set choreography, being part of a team, being allocated and getting to know and working closely with your dance partner all sets the scene for some fantastic times.
Friendship, close bonds, community and the feeling of happiness when you and your team walk off a stage hearing the cheers and applause of an excited audience are priceless!
Where will we perform?
The sky's the limit when it comes to locations and events to perform at! Your debut performance will be at Go Dance's newest yearly event, the Go Dance Latin Winter Wonderland! It's much like our huge Christmas party, just in Winter, a little colder and in June!
Perform to an adoring crowd of friends and family, dazzle the audience with amazing costumes and create awesome memories as you smile for our event's professional photographer!
After your successful debut, the team can choose to perform their routine at any of the Sydney and Australian Salsa scene's special events. With so many local and interstate events happening all year 'round, you and your team will be spoilt for choice!
What are the course details?
Over 5 sessions (and 3 rehearsals) you and your teammates will learn a super fun choreography that is sure to bring the house down!

What do I do if I want to join the audition teams?
Audition can be a terrifying word for many people, but here is what it means in the dance world.
You are asking your school's director for honest feedback about your dance level. It means you want to find out where you're at, what you can improve and most importantly, that you are ready to grow.
It means you will be allocated to a team that will not be too easy or too difficult for you. Being in the right group for your level of dance means two things. One, you'll get to learn and improve from the material in your choreography. Two, it means you'll have fun and won't be overwhelmed by material that is too far above your level.
Most importantly, auditioning means you've earned your spot. In Karate, they have belts and gradings, in the dance world, we have auditions. The team you join is the team level you have earned for showing up and putting yourself in front of your instructor to be assessed. Your team is like your Karate Belt, White, Green or Black Belt!
There is nothing to be scared of! The auditions are run by Rafael Sanchez, Go Dance Creative Director, in a fun, educational and motivating way.
The audition will be run like a dance class where you will learn a short routine and will need to perform it back for assessment. During the audition, you will learn some of the dance world's performance and stage secrets! Get ready for a whole lot of fun learning and fun experience!
Auditions will be held 9:00 pm, Monday 24th February, Glebe Town Hall.
Auditioning is free to students who have paid and registered for their eight-week choreography course. Otherwise, auditions will be charged at $40.00 for students who have not paid and registered for their eight-week choreography course.
