Go Dance GM News #3

Updated: 7 days ago

Dear Go Dance Students!

There is a lot of excitement as we experience further relaxation of COVID restrictions across NSW and elsewhere in Australia. As I write I have an enormous sense of gratitude that we have been able to contain the virus here – compared with the increasingly bleak picture overseas. So we must congratulate ourselves for taking our part in following guidelines and diminishing the impact of COVID here.

Happily, the changes in COVID restrictions extend to our Go Dance operation. Here are the key points:

Masks: Mask-wearing at Go Dance classes will now be optional.

Class capacity: The 4-square rule will now apply to Go Dance classes, allowing us to have up to 50 people in each class.

Bookings: Please book-in ahead of attending your Go Dance class. This enables us to ensure we don’t exceed our capacity, and it means the class can get started on time (plus this will be enormously appreciated by Raf and the Go Dance staff).

In other exciting news, Go Dance is not closing over the Christmas/New Year period! The only class that won’t go ahead is the Newcastle class on Sunday 3 January. Apart from that, we can dance to our hearts’ content throughout the festive season!

Speaking of Christmas, please put the Go Dance Christmas party in your diary:

NEWCASTLE (Wallsend) Christmas Event from 6 pm on Saturday 12 December; and

SYDNEY (Crows Nest) Christmas Event from 6 pm on Saturday 19 December

See the Go Dance App for further details.

And speaking of the Go Dance App, from 1 January, we will be closing the Go Dance groups on Messenger to move all of our communications to the Go Dance App. As well as chatting with Go Dance students, the App is a great place to find out more about Go Dance, book your class before attending, browse Go Dance merchandise and even view Go Dance videos. Check it out!

2021 will also see an increase in Go Dance class prices. That is to say that Go Dance prices will return to our pre- COVD rates. Here are the details which will take effect from 1 January:

  • Go Dance membership: weekly direct debit of $29

  • 8-week package for Salsa and Bachata: $250

  • 8-week package for Salsa or Bachata: $140

  • Beginner course (Salsa and Bachata): $150

Please note: Students who are currently on our reduced COVID pricing of $25.00 per week, will keep their rate until July 2021.

Finally, here is the current class timetable for your dance enjoyment. All classes cover Salsa and Bachata.

  • Monday Glebe 6.30 pm Beginners 7.30 pm Improvers

  • Tuesday North Sydney 7.00 pm Beginners 8.00 pm Improvers

  • Wednesday Crows Nest 6.30 pm Beginners 7.30 pm Improvers

  • Thursday Crows Nest 7.00 pm Advanced (Staff-only training)

  • Sunday Wallsend 6.00 pm Beginners7.00pm Improvers 8.00 pm Intermediate (Graded)

Very best wishes to you all – and I hope to see you on the dance floor soon!
